COLOR INSPIRATION: Burgundy/Marsala (Pantone Color of the Year 2015)
Pantone’s Color of the Year 2015 was Marsala, which I’m sure someone will say is different than burgundy, but I can’t see it. I do have to admit that when I saw that, I kind of had a moment to struggle with that choice. I’m a child of the 90s, and burgundy was all the rage when I was a teenager & in college. I had one of those dresses from Maurices in burgundy with the shoulder pads, the heavy fabric and the heart-shaped cut-out below the neckline with a little pearl dangling. I believe it was my husband’s brother’s first wedding (1995) that had burgundy as the main color.…

Alex & Chelsea’s Lusk Wedding by the Creek

A few details … Chelsea wore a pleated, strapless, empire waist gown from David’s Bridal — with POCKETS!! SOO COOL! Her shoes were a pair of navy blue Converse Chuck Taylors. Earrings were something borrowed from one of her bridesmaids, and she also wore a bracelet from Alex’s grandmother who passed away. Her sash on her dress was handmade by Alex’s sister Kari Dickson. Meet Katie and Zach. She’s a student at Sheridan college (part time vet clinic employee, part time Starbucks Barista), he’s a ranch hand at the Padlock ranch. They met in Jackson Hole while working on a dude ranch in 2014. These really sweet & hip engagement photos were taken at Rapid Canyon Ranch outside of Sheridan at the base of the Big Horn mountains, and their wedding will also be at the ranch (I like the date pic!). WEDDING SPOTLIGHT: Kate & Dan’s Historic Wedding
Kate & Dan met in college, and recently renewed their friendship. Photography by Mike Roberts of Sheridan was kind enough to share this wedding with us, which was also held on he & his lovely wife’s 47th anniversary! Kate, an artist, had a request of Mike – that the wedding be captured in strictly black & white imaging. (As a side note, Kate’s mother and Mike taught together at Big Horn High School!) Also special – this was the first wedding held in the historic Sheridan Inn following the extensive remodeling that took place over the last year.
