Virginia Ruth Photography: Emotion. Captured.
We always love promoting the talented wedding vendors that we’re blessed to have work with our publication, and right now, we’re hoping that you all will give them some extra love. It’s tough ALL over. There isn’t a person who hasn’t been affected by this pandemic somehow. We hear a lot about eating out curbside-fashion to support your local eateries (and we love that!), and about getting gift certificates to support your local retailers (love that too!) … but what about some of those businesses that fall outside both those categories? What if you yourself are unemployed now and/or budget crunched and can’t spend a lot of money right now?…

The reality is the blissful newlyweds probably didn’t share the same sentiment as you did — they had an amazing time! The experience a bride & groom have during their wedding is very different from their guests. I often remind my couples that while the marriage and ceremony is all about them, the reception should be designed with the…

COLOR INSPIRATION: Burgundy/Marsala (Pantone Color of the Year 2015)
Pantone’s Color of the Year 2015 was Marsala, which I’m sure someone will say is different than burgundy, but I can’t see it. I do have to admit that when I saw that, I kind of had a moment to struggle with that choice. I’m a child of the 90s, and burgundy was all the rage when I was a teenager & in college. I had one of those dresses from Maurices in burgundy with the shoulder pads, the heavy fabric and the heart-shaped cut-out below the neckline with a little pearl dangling. I believe it was my husband’s brother’s first wedding (1995) that had burgundy as the main color.…
