It Started With Breakfast.

The morning of our wedding was quiet in the best way.

We sat down for breakfast together; me, my fiancé (now my husband), and our closest people—talking, laughing, and soaking in the calm before the day unfolded. Nothing felt rushed. It felt intentional.

The whole weekend carried that same feeling. Our wedding wasn’t just a ceremony; it felt like a getaway wrapped around one of the most meaningful days of our lives. Having family and friends stay on the property for a few days meant we weren’t just celebrating moments—we were living them together.

Before the ceremony, we slipped away into the trees and read our vows privately. Just the two of us. Quiet, romantic, and deeply intimate. It was one of the most emotional moments of the entire day.

When I walked down the aisle and saw everyone we love gathered there, I felt completely surrounded by support, by joy, by so much love. And then, as if the moment needed one more touch of magic, cotton floated down from the trees during our petal toss. We couldn’t have planned it if we tried.

There was laughter too, the kind you never forget, especially when the wind picked up during the reception and my uncle sprinted across the lawn to rescue our unity tree. By the end of the night, everyone was dancing, singing, and celebrating together.

The next morning came gently. No rushing. Just waking up as newlyweds, lingering over coffee, and soaking in a little more time with the people who mean the most to us.

If I had to describe our wedding weekend in three words, it would be incredible, peaceful, and elegant.

And more than anything, I hope our guests left feeling welcomed—like they were home.
