Thanks to Keith Turbitt’s Shutter-Vision Photography in Cheyenne for providing us with this week’s spotlight! Caitie & Grant were married August 4 in Laramie, at the beautiful and historic Ivinson Mansion. I used to work as a docent at the mansion in junior high, leading tours of people from all over the globe and sharing our fascinating Laramie history. The home was built in 1890 as the planned Governor’s Mansion for then candidate Edward Ivinson, a prominent businessman and leader in the Laramie community. While his bid was unsuccessful, the gorgeous mansion remained and he and his wife Jane spent many years in the beautiful home. The home became a girls’ school and served various capacities for decades after the deaths of Jane and Edward, and an enthusiastic committee saved the home from becoming another relic of the past back almost 40 years ago. Today, the beautiful museum is not only a place of Laramie history and pride, but also a gorgeous location for breathtaking weddings!
Enough for the history lesson. My apologies — the history geek in me surfaced yet again. 🙂 Keith said this was a beautiful day, filled with lots of energy and fun people — and I think these photos prove it! CONGRATS to Caitie & Grant, and thanks to Keith for sharing this beautiful day with us — I love these images!
