My fiancé’s name is John Entel, 26. He was born and raised in Lovell, Wyoming and graduated high school in 2004. He has been working in the oilfield for the past 7 years for J&R Well Service as a Driller. He has a son named Andrew, who is 15 months as of April 3rd, who was from a previous relationship but John has primary custody of him and raises him as a single dad.

I’m Jessica Yates, 20 (till April 6th) and was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming and Graduated from NCHS in 2009. I am currently working on my Child Day Care certification plus working on my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. I was working at a day care in Casper up until November of last year as a preschool teacher. I have a son, Jeremiah, who will be 3 months on March 25th.

John and I met in September of last year on a dating website when I was 6 months pregnant. My son’s biological father was never involved in my pregnancy, nor my son’s life, making me a single mom. John saw past the fact that I was pregnant and got to know me for me. It truly was an instant connection. My grandma always told me, “You will know when you meet the one,” and man, was she right! He is truly my soul mate, my one true love and best friend.

My son was born in December and at the beginning of February, I made the move up to Lovell and became a stay at home mom to both Andrew and Jeremiah. On February 18th, after a day trip to Billings, Montana, John proposed. After putting the boys to bed, I stepped outside for a minute. As I was heading back in, I noticed John had turned off the lights in the house, which I thought was odd considering we had company coming over at any moment. I came inside to find candles lit everywhere and John opening a bottle of champagne. I asked him what is going on and he said, “We have something to celebrate, I hope.” A little confused at that point, John came up to me, got down on one knee with a box open which had a ring inside and I instantly burst into tears.

I can’t remember exactly what he said, I was a bawling mess, but I do remember him saying, “Will you and Jeremiah marry Andrew and I?” I couldn’t quit saying yes. I must have said it 100 times! Just recently John adopted my son Jeremiah, next is our wedding, joining us all together as a family.

We have since began the tedious yet rewarding project of wedding planning. We are getting married on September 28th of this year, our one year anniversary. We are planning an evening wedding at the church where I grew up in located in Casper. Because John proposed by candlelight, we have decided to get married by candlelight. John and I are making some stove pipe candles together which are about 3 ft tall but the church will be covered with white candles, red roses and low lights. A reception will follow but we are still researching places together.

We both are planning our wedding together because we wanted it to be exactly what we both want.  Because our wedding is in my home town and we live 4 hours north, it can be a little difficult. We are probably going to have the reception in a hotel where out of town guests can stay. We have a guest list of 120-150 people with a wedding party of 3 each.

I have never been so blessed or happy in my life. Like John and I say to each other, he is my rock to lean on and foundation and I am his glue who holds him and our family together. I have never been so in love. I always thought love existed in fairytales till now. I’m living my fairytale and I have found my Prince Charming!
