Meet Dynamic Sound & Lighting!
Our social media takeover week for April 18, 2022 features Dynamic Sound & Lighting of Casper! Meet owner Jeff Schafer and his crew and learn more about this company that is aptly named — we’ve worked with them for years through both our bridal expos events and having them provide sound & lighting for our other hat, Laramie Dance Center, when we had a pandemic-fueled plan B recital inhouse in 2021. They were fantastic! But I’ll stop blabbing on and let DSL introduce themselves and their team …
“Hi Everybody! For years, Dynamic Sound and Lighting has been providing quality effects, music and lights for events all over Wyoming! We’re the ones who make your event magical. We are so excited to be a part of this week’s #Takeover. From our events, to weddings, we’re excited for a week of sharing all about us!
Please reach out to us at fb.com/DynamicSoundandLightingWY , call 307.315.3682 or visit our website at dynamicsoundandlightingwy.com with any questions for us!“
Meet the Team!
Jeff Schafer, Owner & Audio Engineer
Although his career journey did not start in the audio business, Jeff’s long-time love of audio gear ended up leading him to DJing and small audio production in the beginning. Following his passion for live sound and event production and with 25 years of experience, he decided to go into business for himself in 2012, marking the beginning of Dynamic Sound and Lighting. With much company success, Dynamic Sound and Lighting has grown exponentially. The company now boasts a commercial mobile stage, photo booth and 25′ video wall. They have enough equipment and crew to host six DJ events, while still producing concerts, festivities and other sound/lighting events simultaneously. If you see Jeff during a rare moment when he has time off, you can find him fishing, spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, and working on his Challenger.
Luc Colgrove, CTA — IT Specialist
Luc Colgrove is a Certified Tourism Ambassador with a demonstrated history of working in the hospitality and service industries. Over the years, he has found his passion in what can best described as “all things nerd” including software systems and project workflow management and of course MUSIC! He has a demonstrated history working in customer relations from a variety of fields including as a loyalty program manager. Luc is currently enrolled as a senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with concentrations in both accounting and marketing, and is an inducted member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. Luc found a passion for sound in the seventh grade after being accepted into an auditioned choir. As part of the responsibilities of this choir, Luc found himself helping to set up recording equipment for the concerts hosted by the middle school he attended. A caring choir teacher recognized his passion and invited him to continue learning under his direction, while also connecting Luc to the theater department at the high school he would later attend. Luc subsequently found himself working as a spotlight operator, sound technician and even stage manager for an assortment of productions in high school. He found an opportunity to reconnect with his passion for sound when he connected with Dynamic Sound and Lighting at a Rock the Block event in Casper in 2019, and after working part time for a handful of months, accepted a full time position with the company in December 2019. In his free time, you can often find Luc on a two-track or public access land around the state. If that doesn’t work, you may find him cruising around town with all windows down and the music all the way up. Either way, Luc is always up for an adventure, whether that is geocaching, a hike, or even a picnic beside the river.
Whitney Tomlinson, Graphic Designer/Photographer
As a photographer with many years of experience running her own business and a graphic design graduate of Southern New Hampshire University, Whitney has had up to nine years of experience in the media arts field. Before she found her niche in this exciting line of work, she was a community manager for twelve years. She’s used her skill set from a small-scale newspaper to a large online corporate setting. She has found through all these experiences that working with a wonderful crew in small business (like Dynamic Sound and Lighting) is where she fits in best! Whitney’s personal life involves far too many plants, a love for all things furry, and having adventures with her husband and two daughters. To add to her repertoire, she loves painting, remodeling her home, gardening and spending any opportunity she can get outdoors (and maybe some gaming time!)
Steve Misora, Audio Engineer
Steve is from Chicago and has worked in live audio and stage production for over 25 years. He has also been a studio engineer and musician for over 30 years! He is a fun guy to be around, who genuinely wants to lower stress and make life more enjoyable through bad jokes. The best part of working in the production field for Steve is the ability to see everything happen — from load in to performance and through load out. It truly is an art in itself. Steve’s favorite part of Dynamic Sound and Lighting is working with quality people who truly want to do their best for their clients, and who consistently bring their “A game” to every event.
Trust Lopez, Production Assistant
Trust is an experienced DJ, previously with Butch’s Happy Days, located in Evansville, WY. He was initially a Disc Jockey for Butch’s, doing many events such as karaoke and game nights involving water pong and cornhole. Trust has gained interest in live productions and was introduced to Dynamic Sound and Lighting as an IT Specialist and Audio/Video Productions by Luc Colgrove. He has experience in audio, lighting and video productions with Dynamic Sound and Lighting as well as Ford Wyoming Center beginning in 2021. Trust is looking to continue pursuing live productions as well as independent productions within the music industry.
