Thanks to Anne of Ludwig Photography in Laramie for sharing this beautiful ranch wedding… Here’s what Anne has to say about Meghan & Sean’s day:

This is one of our most favorite WYOMING true WEST weddings of all times, the wedding of Meghan and Sean Kennedy. Meghan contacted us a year before their wedding because she had heard about our Reflections album (an emotional story about them as a couple) that we create before each couple’s wedding day.  In her heart she really wanted a beautiful image of both she and Sean on horseback in an uncut hay meadow.  When we met with Meghan and Sean we fell in love with their relationship to each other and to the family ranch and their true western lifestyle.  Sean was the typical quiet polite cowboy and let Meghan do most of the talking.  It was so much fun seeing him open up over the year and tickle us with his Cowboy wit and sense of humor.  It was obvious how much he loves Meghan.  He may have been shy but around Meghan his eyes twinkled and his smile beamed.  It was a joy going out to the Kennedy Vale Ranch to capture the iconic image Meghan had described of them both on horseback.  And wow little did we know how good Meghan was with a lasso! Maybe that is how she won his heart when they first met at the University of Wyoming, by just roping him in.

The ranch was incredibly beautiful for the wedding.  Sean and Meghan had been fixing fence, painting, cutting hay and getting everything just so for months.  We had to laugh — everyone in attendance as well as the bridal party, family members and guests all had on their best cowboy boots and Meghan’s were to die for.

It seemed so fitting after the ceremony- two incredible horses were saddled up and ready for the bride and groom to make a getaway to a secluded aspen grove for some photographs as man and wife.  Then a quick Wyoming rainstorm blew through as they raced each other on horseback back to the ranch house and a beautifully decorated white tent for the reception. Upon their arrival the most amazing rainbow appeared out of nowhere to grace the meadow where the delicious chuck wagon dinner and dance were to take place.

From time to time I chat with Meghan on Facebook as the phone service at the base of the mountain is poor and it is comforting to know (using a western phrase I’d heard old timers use when I was a kid) that the LATCH STRING IS ALWAYS OUT for me when I come to visit.

Thanks again to Ludwig Photography of Laramie & Portrait Artist Anne Brande for sharing this spotlight with us! I can visualize the story so well…this is truly a Wyoming fairy tale!
