Meet Erika! And thanks to Erika for sharing her experiences with us!<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Hello!!\u00a0 My name is Erika and coming this September I will finally marry my love, Nathan.\u00a0 Our relationship will reach seven years a month before our wedding day.\u00a0 Some quick facets:\u00a0 Nathan\u2019s brother is married to my local best friend; we worked at the same complex for two years before we started dating (different departments); and finally we\u2019ve spent approximately four years as a long distance couple.\u00a0 We\u2019ve had a lot of ups, downs, lefts and rights during these last 6 \u00bd years, but one thing we actually agree on is that those times are what made our relationship as strong as it is today\u2026 and the reason we know it is the right time to wed.\u00a0 Cue the \u2018ahhh\u2019.\u00a0 Even though I didn\u2019t think it was possible, Nathan found a way to surprise me at Christmas by proposing in front of my family (my grandmother LOVED it).\u00a0 The even bigger surprise is that he gave me the iPad that came with <\/span>his purchase at the jewelry store!\u00a0 I\u2019m nice enough to share with him. <\/span>\ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n

Once the ring slid upon my finger, I was in full planning mode.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been thinking about, talking about and planning weddings for about ten years now. \u00a0Now that my own wedding is a reality, I\u2019ve become highly indecisive with too many ideas.\u00a0 Plus, since I\u2019ve been talking about it for so long, the expectations for my wonderful wedding are Huge and I don\u2019t want to disappoint!\u00a0 I know, I know, it\u2019s our wedding and it doesn\u2019t matter what everyone else thinks, but I still want this wedding to scream Erika &amp; Nathan!!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Because of this need to \u2018show-off\u2019 my faux wedding planning skills, we originally wanted our wedding in Salt Lake City.\u00a0 We thought it would be more convenient for out of town guests, have more options for vendors and a bit more glamour.\u00a0 After doing hours and hours of research online, we went to SLC to review these fabulous venues.\u00a0 It was a quick trip because after a few moments at each site, nothing impressed us enough to expend the extra cost.\u00a0 Plus, we\u2019d have to cut down our massive guest list.\u00a0 At the end of the day we took the advice of every wedding book I\u2019ve ever read and reviewed our priorities.\u00a0 For us, it is more important to include as many of our friends and family on this big day than to have a venue that means nothing to us.\u00a0 Now, don\u2019t get me wrong, the sites are wonderful and anyone is lucky to get married there.\u00a0 They just wouldn\u2019t fit our large families or personalities.\u00a0 So now we are getting married at work!\u00a0 Yep, we booked the wedding at the Sweetwater Events Complex in Rock Springs, where we first started our relationship.\u00a0 Meaningful, holds a lot of people and a blank canvas for us to blast with bright colors!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I\u2019m excited to share my planning experiences with anyone who reads.\u00a0 I know I\u2019m just a typical bride-to-be swarmed by wedding ideas and it\u2019s going to be fun to muddle through this together!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
