Nathan & Erika’s wedding on September 10, 2011 (9-10-11!) was held at two great Sweetwater County locations — the ceremony took place at Expedition Island in Green River, with the reception at the Sweetwater Events Complex in Rock Springs. \u00a0Their photography was captured by the amazing David Huber of Worland<\/a>. \u00a0Erika has some great bits to share from the day and check out their images — REALLY cool ideas, especially the Cold Stone buffet for dessert! (LOVE that!)<\/p>\n

Ice Cream Bar:\u00a0 We aren’t really ‘cake’ people and while at a bridal show in SLC, I discovered Cold Stone’s catering options.\u00a0 Once back in Rock Springs, I proposed the same possibility at our local branch.\u00a0 We worked with the store manager to create our own serving options at the reception.\u00a0 The reviews from our guests were glowing!\u00a0 Everyone loved creating their own ice cream dessert using our favorites \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 especially the kids.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

One of my favorite memories: We planned to do a fun dancing entrance\u00a0into the reception with our line.\u00a0 After the rehearsal dinner, we did a practice run with music at the hall and the idea didn’t go over well.\u00a0 However, when we arrived to the reception hall after the ceremony, everyone was in their places and Nathan and I were able to watch them enter into the hall to the dance floor.\u00a0 It was FANTASTIC!\u00a0 The kids started it off with a lot of excitement and each pair that followed had their own choreographed routine created in less than 24 hours.\u00a0 The guests loved it and it was a wonderful way to jump start the party.\u00a0 A vision I will never forget.<\/em><\/p>\n

Another item I will never forget are the poms!\u00a0 It took a large group effort to make all of the\u00a0160 colorful tissue paper poms that covered the reception ceiling.\u00a0 Two days of folding, cutting and prepping the colorful design with family members.\u00a0 Then an entire day of ‘poofing’ and hanging the poms around the hall with our great groomsmen and bridesmen.\u00a0 We were all sick of them by the time we were done, but it was worth it to have my vision come true!\u00a0 Now the poms are a running joke among our friends and family.<\/em><\/p>\n

Our ceremony at Expedition Island was set up by the men of the wedding party – groomsmen, bridesmen, fathers and the groom.\u00a0 I gave them the pieces and they designed it all and turned out beautifully!\u00a0 Even better than I had imagined.
